Florida SBDC at Daytona State College
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) helps businesses become more successful today and meet the challenges of tomorrow. Whether you are starting a business, buying a business, growing a business, selling a business or looking for financing, we can help you.

The SBDC at Daytona State College is a member of the Florida SBDC Network, a statewide service network funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

As a subcenter of the SBDC at UCF, the SBDC at Daytona State College has been actively serving the entrepreneurs of Volusia and Flagler Counties since 1992.

In addition to the core services provided by the SBDC at DaytonaState, the Florida SBDC Network provides business
assistance in the following specialized programs:

Business Technology Commercialization Program
Provides support for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in Research & Development or Manufacturing in Florida. The BTC program promotes rapid commercialization of innovative products and serves as a bridge between the investor community, technology-based firms, university researchers, federal agencies, and local economic development organizations. The program provides training, counseling, resources and referrals to individuals interested in the start-up, retention and expansion of technology-based firms in Florida. Defense Economic Transition Assistance Program
 
A specialized initiative to assist defense-dependent or defense-related businesses suffering from a reduction in defense spending or base closures/realignments. The DETA program provides management and technical assistance to prepar affected businesses for the transition into additional strategic markets. This assistance is offered to military personnel, employees of defense contractors, small defense contractors and sub-contractors, and small firms that are defense-dependent but do not sell directly to the DOD or to related primes contractors. Office of International Programs
 
 
This office coordinates a statewide program designed to advance global competitiveness of small business through counseling and training. The Trade Florida Series consists of the Trade Florida Primer, an introduction to international trade; the Business of Exporting, a three-hour seminar that covers the abc's of trade; and Exporting Florida, small business export certification training. A partner in the Team Florida Trade Network, the Florida SBDC Network works to enhance trade opportunities in Argentina, Australia, Curacao, France, Japan and Mexico. Florida Procurement and Technical Assistance Center 
The PTAC helps businesses interested in obtaining contracts with government agencies and prime government contractors. Assistance includes individual counseling and group training. A PTAC specialist is located at the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Center in Gateway Shopping Center. For more information, see the

Veterans' Business Outreach Center 
The VBOC serves as a clearinghouse of business and technical assistance for veterans interested in starting or growing a business. The Center conducts research, counsels and educates veterans, and links to resource partners with access to experts in many fields. For more information, see the Florida SBDC Network.
